Vacuum Pool Cleaner
In-experienced pool care…when I hookup automatic cleaner do I put on backwash to vacuum or regular pump?

i own a pool company MICMAN is wrong you want to turn your pool on to filter. i have done pools for fourteen (14) years.put your pool pump to filter to vaccum pool
depends on model, but usually the pump runs normal to vac & there should be a way to get vacuum into the hose. for instance, above ground pool. push hose against outlet so it fills with water. skimmer had a lid on the skimmer, placed that lid down into the skimmer (instead of just as a cover on top, its now blocking the pool water from above & only the small inlet for the hose gets suction. attach hose to small hole at skimmer entrance, turn on pump. then when done, turn off, remove lid, then switch to backwash. this will clean the sediment filter. only need a minute or 2. turn off, return to pump. turn back on. Go SWIM
I think that depends on the model.
