Best pool cleaner to vacuum pool
pool water is very dirty and dark green.?
I just bought a house that has a pool but very dirty from no one living there for months..We have been vacuuming it and getting all the leaves out, adding chemicals but its still green and dirty.Can i drain it half way and clean the bottom really good then refill it with clean water and start treating it?
I was told that if i emptied the pool the liner would shrink so to only let half the water out , is that true?

yeah you could, also take a water sample to a pool store to get it tested and they tell you what you need to do

If it will not go away with cleaning, empty it all the way, clean it, and put clean, new water in it.
Fastest way…drain and refill. Alternatively, super shock the pool with chlorine, and keep the chlorine high, and eventually the water (few days) will turn white with suspended particals. Buy some pool floc and follow the directions. Floc will sink to the bottom carrying with it the suspended particals. Vacume out on waste setting.
I would take a sample to the local pool
store, and they will tell you what you need to do.

It would be a good idea to change the sand in the filter. Every time you vacum the pool you will need to do a backwash and then clean the sand, otherwise dirt will re-enter the pool and the filter will not clean properly. You will need to add anti-algae agents and also use a chlorine shock treatment. Your PH level has to be correct in order for other chemicals to work properly. You will need a floculant as well to trap all the tiny particles that are too small to go through the filtering system.
There are a lot of on-line guides you could look at or ask at your local pool shop.
Take a sample of the water to your pool supplier and they should be able to recommend viable treatment. Then Enjoy!!!
